A decade of Salt
Ten years on the sea leaves more than salt on your skin—it weaves itself into your soul. Life aboard a sailboat is a tapestry of adventures, lessons, and moments that linger long after the waves are behind you. From sunrises that painted the horizon gold to storms that tested every ounce of strength, the sea gifted us stories we carry like treasures.
Here, we share a few of them—snapshots of a life shaped by the tides, the wind, and the unrelenting beauty of the open water.
We found land
Nestled between two flowing streams and cradled by a small, untouched mountain, our land feels like something out of a dream. These enchanted woods, virtually untouched by man, hold a quiet kind of magic—a place where time slows, and nature speaks. Here, we are learning the art of self-sustained living, finding beauty in simplicity, and uncovering the stories written in the soil, the water, and the trees.
This is where we begin again, sharing the art, lessons, and wonder we discover as the land teaches us how to truly live.
Living a hybrid life
On our land, we’ve found a balance between self-reliance and modern ease. With fiber internet keeping us connected, we can embrace the solitude without feeling isolated. Our water, fed by Barbour County’s crystal springs, flows through a simulated off-grid system of tanks—much like the setup we knew on our boat. Electricity powers our main buildings, while cabins and primitive areas remain fully off-grid, honoring the simplicity of life in nature.
By blending off-grid skills with modern comforts, we’re discovering a rhythm that feels both practical and peaceful—simple, efficient, and truly our own.
